STRUCTURE

Central Coast Highland Dancing Inc is an organisation based on the Central Coast of NSW Australia. The objectives of the organisation are to preserve and promote Scottish Highland Dancing. The organisation has an executive consisting - President, Secretary, Chairman, Treasurer, Competition Secretary, and relevant directorships. CCHDI organises several events in line with the objectives, the most significant being the annual competition which brings hundreds of dancers to the Central Coast every year. As a competition organiser the CCHDI reports to the NSW State Committee of Highland Dancing Inc.

The NSWSCHDInc is the governing body for Highland Dancing in NSW. With an executive which includes President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer. It is made up of 3 technical organisations and 1 associate member. The technical organisations are the Scottish Dancing Association of Australia, the National Dancing Association of Australia and the NSW State Technical Panel, which consists of all NSW Judges. The Associate Member is the Newcastle Highland Dancing Association, an organisation similar to CCHDI. The State Committee meets 7 times a year and contributes greatly to promoting Highland Dancing throughout NSW. The NSWSCHDInc is under the auspices of the Australian Board of Highland Dancing Inc, as a state representative.

The ABHDI is the national governing body for Highland Dancing in Australia. The ABHDI has an executive comprising President, Senior Vice-President, Junior Vice-President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer with 3 delegates from States (NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia) 1 delegate from Regional Committees for every 300 dancers (Sth QLD – 2, Nth QLD – 1, ACT – 1, WA Metro – 1, WA East Goldfields – 1). The ABHDI administer Highland Dancing in Australia under the Auspices of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.

The SOBHDis the world governing body for Highland Dancing. They administer all technical matters pertaining to Highland Dancing. The SOBHD comprise of an executive – President, Vice-President, Chairman, Secretary/ Treasurer, Honorary members, Delegates of member organisations and Independent members.

In short, the CCHDI contribute locally through events run by the association and contribute world wide by representation through relevant organisations. (As listed above)
